Meet Our Team
MACFORCE Australia Director
Passionate about changing the way people are employed in Australia, Anthony surrounds his workforce with the support and tools needed to succeed while living a fulfilled life. Anthony’s diverse career has involved working for a range of industries across Australia. This includes on the ocean, in mines and in boardrooms, experiencing FIFO, and managing large scale projects within the domestic and commercial building industry. Of all his responsibilities, including upholding the values of quality, integrity and compassion across his MACFORCE team, Anthony loves giving certainty through employment to a wide range of people who are going through uncertain times. He is most proud of MACFORCE becoming a leading employer of ex-offenders in Western Australia, helping Indigenous Australians in remote locations find real employment, and helping clients find the right candidates.
Outside MACFORCE, Anthony loves family adventures with his wife of 26 years and four adult children, often involving surfing, boating and fishing.
Tyla has supported the growth of MACFORCE since its beginnings, initiating much of its processes and operations before stepping into the General Manager role in 2018. She continues to be mentored by MACFORCE Director Anthony MacShane with a focus on management, people and discipline. Tyla’s goal for MACFORCE is to help find employment pathways for those unable to in the past. Her key responsibilities are maintaining high quality operations at MACFORCE, assisting Anthony and the team with client and candidate priorities, tracking the team’s work, and upholding the company’s culture, including through encouraging an enjoyable workplace.
Tyla is a tea enthusiast who loves staying fit and spending time with family. She also enjoys travelling, seeing new places and meeting new people.
Seb leads MACFORCE’s HR team with a passion for mentoring team members and delivering exceptional results to clients through providing appropriate candidates. Seb’s career began in commercial and residential landscape design and construction, before he became involved in the resources industry which included as a Construction Supervisor building pipe networks in the Pilbara and successfully building and commissioning critical pieces of infrastructure in a working mine. Seb has been in owner and leadership positions for many businesses in the horticulture and construction industries. A highlight of his current role are the honest discussions he has with candidates and learning about each person to be able to provide them the best job for their situation.
In his spare time Seb enjoys spending time with his family, including his daughter. He also volunteers for bushwalks with men in the community to help them heal from trauma.
HR Client Manager
Chris enjoys helping people to navigate entry into the resources industry, whether they need assistance due to inexperience or from issues in their past. Key to Chris’ role is determining if candidates are not only the right fit for the company, but also if the company is the right fit for the person. Experienced in the mining sector and FIFO, Chris ran projects for 13 years for various companies. He is most proud of the projects he ran successfully by treating crew as family and equals. He now brings this attitude to MACFORCE, advocating everyone deserves an equal go and compassion.
When not working, Chris enjoys spending time with family, going out-bush and BBQs. He also loves helping friends and neighbours, and volunteering at the local football club.
BRAND MANAGER & NATIONAL PROJECT MANAGER
The impact MACFORCE was making in the ex-offender and veteran training space led Jobe to join the team. Bringing with him three years’ experience from a global advertising agency where he developed campaigns and provided strategic analysis, Jobe has a knack for building brands through storytelling. Jobe is passionate about generating positive impact, and one of his favourite aspects of his role is providing certainty in the lives of his candidates and inciting real change. MACFORCE provides a platform for Jobe to further share his advocacy for male mental health, wellness and education.
Jobe is a life-long learner. Outside of work, he enjoys a range of lifestyle activities that he builds around those closest to him
EX-OFFENDER PROGRAM Manager
Marg’s journey to MACFORCE began when she was working FIFO alongside Anthony and their friendship blossomed. She joined MACFORCE in its early years, to bring her knowledge and experience to the company which included working in FIFO for 10 years and running three businesses. As part of her role as Mobilisation Manager, Marg engages with MACFORCE’s candidates to ensure they are aware of their work placement responsibilities. She guides them to gain site approval and achieve their dream of becoming a FIFO worker. Marg delivers her work with honesty, loyalty, compassion, consideration and integrity – values that are extremely important to her. During her time with MACFORCE, Marg has been most proud of how she has contributed to the growth of the business, and specifically of MACFORCE’s role in breaking down the stigma of employing ex-offenders and providing them with career opportunities.
When not at work, Marg loves spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends, along with travelling and seeing new places, while supporting others who are doing it tough.
EX-OFFENDER PROGRAM MANAGER
Brad (Northy) North has been instrumental in the design and implementation of MACFORCE Australia’s Ex-Offender Mentor Program, after working with prisoners himself while incarcerated. Approached for his compassion and stoicism, Northy has stepped into a mentorship role with ex-offender candidates, supporting them to stay on the straight and narrow. Passionately living MACFORCE’s values, what Northy enjoys is the committed, driven and supportive environment he works within. Northy places great value on the progress he has made, as well as the success of candidates of a similar background to himself.
Cody works in a mobilisation capacity within MACFORCE, organising all aspects of training, medical and administrative requirements for all candidates. After serving as a Rifleman for five years with the Australian army, Cody brings a wealth of experience to his role and is particularly passionate about helping veterans find meaningful employment. Cody’s highlights during his time serving with the Australian Defence Force include deployment to Afghanistan where he conducted personal protection and mobile security operations. After the Defence Force, Cody sought a career change and combined his love of working with people with his social skills. The most rewarding aspect of Cody’s role is seeing his candidates obtain employment.
Outside of work, Cody loves his sports and enjoys playing AFL and golf socially. Cody spends his downtime at the beach or having a glass of wine with friends.
MARKETING & RECRUITMENT CONSULTANT
Egan started working with MACFORCE Australia when it was a fledgling company in their family home. During his time with the business, Egan has grown professionally by acquiring skills, knowledge and an enjoyment for working with the mining industry. His work is guided by the mindset of everyone deserving a go at a position, from fresh talent to experienced supervisors wanting a career change. In his role, Egan believes honesty, compassion and fairness are some of the most important values, as he specialises in advertising, social media and recruitment to meet client requests for candidates. He is most proud MACFORCE’s role in supporting ex-offenders to get back on track through employment.
Egan is a sports enthusiast, loving watching NBA and AFL, and having enjoyed playing Australian Rules Football and competing in athletics as a teenager. He enjoys getting involved with local football and golf in his spare time.
SOFTWARE & Recruitment Consultant
For Finn, there is no greater feeling than giving people the opportunity to work, including those who have had previous struggles. Finn enjoys working in a fast-paced and nimble team to ensure timely, and quality results for clients and candidates. In his role as MACFORCE Australia’s Recruitment Consultant, Finn is responsible for screening and onboarding candidates, and managing and compiling documents for clients. With a knack for technology, Finn is also the company’s systems administrator, responsible for software implementation.
Finn enjoys staying fit, which has included running a marathon with a friend to raise funds and awareness for mental health. Since, they have been nominated for the Barbara Hocking R U OK? Award for Young Conversation Champions.
